Mermaid Cottage Set in the heart of Newlyn opposite the Art Gallery and only a few paces from the dog friendly beach. This quaint one-time fisherman's cottage in Newlyn is furnished with a nautical theme, complete with a telescope in the main bedroom looking out to sea. From this Newlyn cottage there is a clear view of St Michael's Mount rising up from the bay providing a picturesque seascape that has captured the imagination of many of the famous Newlyn artists. The cosy cottage accommodation includes a sitting room with feature fireplace, leading through sliding doors to the dining room. There are two double bedrooms, each with some interesting paintings, and there is a good library of books and guides. From here you may like to enjoy a stroll around the harbour, visit the art galleries, enjoy the beaches of Mounts Bay or take a short drive to St Ives or Land's End. Directions Travelling West on the A30 into Penzance follow the road left at the Railway Station. Keep to the main road that passes along Penzance harbour. Follow this road for about 1 mile Look on the left hand side for the Bowling and Village greens on the way into Newlyn. The Art gallery, on the far corner of the green, is next to a zebra crossing and traffic lights. Proceed about 100 yards then turn left immediately before a small road bridge. Follow the road left passing a car showroom and the Tolcarne Inn. At the far end of the car park turn sharp left by the memorial statue, into Art Gallery Terrace. The cottage is at the far end of the terrace opposite the gallery. This is a no through Road so there is ample time to do your loading and unloading.
